Julia O'Malley designed the GoFundMe campaign for food recovery so that the Easton Food Recovery Group could purchase supplies, hire a part-time coordinator and with the help of the Lehigh Valley Food Policy Council, expand throughout the Lehigh Valley. Target: $10,000
Food recovery reduces food waste and provides fresher, local, more nutritious food to re-distribute to area emergency food providers.
The grassroots, volunteer-driven effort is part of the Food Recovery & Respect Working Group of the Lehigh Valley Food Policy Council. In 2018 the Easton Food Recovery Group rescued over 11,500 pounds of nutritious food for our area emergency food providers. All donations come from local retail establishments, institutions and area farms.
